Description:

Requirement: 16+ if volunteering alone; youth welcome if supervised. No background check required. Annual Volunteer Waiver required. Tree maintenance requires a licensed arborist.

Average volunteer time: 2 hours per visit, 3 days total commitment, weekly.

Available locations:

  • Canopy Yard — landscape and garden areas

Tasks performed:

  • Keep landscape and garden areas cultivated, free of trash and debris, and looking nice.
  • Promote appropriate usage and provide guidance to neighboring landmarks.
  • Spot maintenance issues before they become hazards.
  • Share general Canopy Yard excitement and knowledge.

Time Commitment:

Estimated hours per visit: 2 hours.

Frequency: Weekly.

Typical days/times: 4 shifts available — morning, afternoon, or evening.

Season: Year-round possible; peak season March–November.

Total commitment: 3 days.

Scheduling notes: This hands-on role is perfect for someone who would be in the park nearly daily, or who has a consistent schedule that allows recurring park time.
