Requirement: Must be 18+ years of age. Full background check required. Valid driver's license required (for golf cart use). Citywide liability waiver required.
Average volunteer time: 4–6 hours per shift, weekly or monthly based on availability.
Available locations:
- Lincoln's 18-hole City golf courses
Tasks performed:
- Assist with starting golfers on the course.
- Remind golfers of rules and etiquette.
- Monitor pace of play to ensure smooth flow around the course.
- Provide help with directions, lost balls, or any issues during play.
- Monitor golf cart use.
- Respond to golfers' questions or concerns on busy summer days.
Course Ambassadors help keep the desired pace of play on Lincoln's golf courses by acting as starters on the first tee, monitoring cart use, and responding to golfer questions on busy days. The goal: 18 holes in under 5 hours.
- Time Commitment:
Estimated hours per visit: 4–6 hours.
Frequency: Weekly or monthly.
Typical days/times: Friday afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
Season: April–September.
Scheduling: Shift-based or event sign-up. Flexible scheduling available.
